NASA’s Cube Quest Challenge
Boston is a big city but the great thing about it is that at the same time it can be very small and any chance to help bring the spotlight to this beautiful city we are from is an opportunity we can’t pass up! We have worked closely with MIT in the past so when we were approached to help them film for another NASA challenge we jumped at it! MIT is competing in NASA’s Cube Quest Challenge and is the second runner up at this point in the competition. Cube Quest, a competition sponsored by NASA’s Space Technology Mission Directorate Centennial Challenge Program, is an exciting, years-long challenge that brings together some of the smartest minds in space and technology to help progress space missions for NASA. More specifically, they are competing to build the best small satellite that can communicate and propel itself around the moon’s orbit and beyond. Teams that achieve top performance at high-speed data communications, navigation and survival after achieving lunar orbit or a minimum long-distance range from Earth compete for an unprecedented $5.5 million prize purse in NASA’s first ever in-space challenge. Cube Quest is part of NASA’s Centennial Challenges Program, which accelerates technology by engaging non-traditional sources in competition. We are honored to be a part of this amazing opportunity with such an innovative purpose and we are excited to continue with the project! We wish the MIT team the best of luck and stay tuned for more updates.
