Stop Handgun Violence is a non-profit started by entrepreneur John Rosenthal in 1995 when he discovered that children are disproportionally killed or wounded by gun violence every year. Together with supporters such as Boston Police Superintendent and Chief, Daniel Linskey, and World Record Skeet Shooter and Veteran, Austin Dorr, John continues to push for gun regulation including intensive background checks, disclosing mental histories when applying for gun licensure, and the restriction of military assault riffles and large magazines. However, John and his supporters are strong advocates of the second amendment and wish to maintain the right to bear arms. The effort has proven an uphill battle for John as he reminds those that travel by his billboard outside of Fenway Park, the toll gun violence takes each day.
