McElroy Films Expands to New Facility based in Burlington, MA
With an increase of video production over 2011, McElroy Films expands its staff and office to Mall Road in Burlington, Massachusetts.
McElroy Films, has proven that sticking to a philosophy that video can affordable and created at a lower cost is a recipe for success. McElroy Films has had an office & studio close to Boston but since it’s doors have been open we’ve already out-grew that space and have had to move to a larger facility and hire additional staff.
McElroy Films new location at 50 Mall Road in Burlington, Mass houses a staff of editors, sales and marketing, and a new theater room with additional space to expand.

About the Owner: Benjamin McElroy
Ben started his career in high school as a documentarian, filming abroad in Turkey, Israel, Greece, and India for Open Air Campaigners, His Land Israel Tours, and The People’s Baptist College and Seminary. His college experience included the New York Film Academy, Full Sail University in Orlando, FL, and UMass Lowell. Ben won the National Press Photographers Award for outstanding photography during his time with the Lowell Sun and also spent time with the Associated Press, Manchester Union Leader, and Time Warner. His recent corporate videography includes pieces for Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Newt Gingrich 2012, the Greater Boston Real Estate Board, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, the Fenway Health Institute, the New England Pediatric Center, and the Habitat for Humanity.

Another year… another award-winning set of videos. This year saw a new diversity of videos from training videos for the Boston Fire Department, to book trailers, to hugely successful music videos, but the newest award-winners came from long-time clients of McElroy Films.
“Our entire team has a commitment to provide our clients with the best possible product while keeping our costs down,” owner and executive producer Benjamin J. McElroy said. “It’s always nice to be recognized for our work ethic and I couldn’t be happier with the videos that won this year.”
McElroy Films has won three silver Davey Awards in the Non-profit category for videos produced for Fenway Health, New England Pediatric Care and South Shore Habitat for Humanity. While the quality and production value of all McElroy’s videos are top-notch, the videos produced for these three non-profits were especially powerful in their imagery and message.

McElroy Films working with Presidential Candidate Newt Gingrich
McElroy Films is working with Presidential Candidate Newt Gingrich on his travels in New Hampshire this Winter. We’ve been hard at work on the campaign trail with the former Speaker of the House traveling to schools and town halls. Yesterday was exceptionally fun with the Presidential Candidate. We traveled all over New Hampshire visiting businesses, colleges, debates and interviews.

First stop was at Insight Defense Company where he met with the CEO and workers at their HQ in Londonderry NH. Here’s the full article on the Christian Science Monitor

Afterwords, we traveled to Nashua High School where he went on television and spoke in an Editorial Board meeting for Nashua.

In the early evening we headed to St. Anselm College to the Institute of Politics for a CSPAN debate with Gov. Jon Huntsman. Here’s the article in CNN.

Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis – 2011 Video
We’re proud to launch the Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis 2011 video. This video has been in the making all summer with locations ranging from Washington DC, Boston and the west coast. Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis is CCFA’s largest fundraising event. Participants raise funds and awareness throughout the year and come together to celebrate the steps that have been taken towards a cure
This has been another exciting year for CCFA and this video summarizes the importance for research for this deadly disease. Below are the two videos for this year.
HIV Trial Participants – Red Ribbon Heroes – Brigham and Woman’s
We had a wonderful opportunity to shoot for the Red Ribbon Heroes (Brigham and Woman’s Hospital) this past October. We were videotaping HIV Trial Participants for the hospital’s new HIV Vaccine study.
We shot the videos on two 7Ds with the 24-70mm 2.8. The audio was boomed and sent to a Tascam recorder. The whole shoot was fun and enjoyable our entire crew was pleased with the results.
These videos went live in the Red Ribbon heroes section of the Brigham & Woman’s website. It’s a four part series of videos that will encourage and motivate other young people to participate. These videos were launched December 1, 2011 for World AIDS Day.

Boston Fire Department Training Video – Boston, MA
This summer we had the unprecedented opportunity to work with the Prestigious Boston Fire Department. We shot in multiple locations in and around Boston at various fire houses. Including Cambridge, Jamaica Plain and Dorchester. We interviewed many Fire Fighters, Chiefs and the Commissioner.
The final video is divided into chapters featuring testimonials, instructional tutorials and a simulation. The video below is only the simulation. For time time constraints and viewer attention spans. This chapter was a little more visual stimulating. The simulation was shot on Moon Island with 5 cameras. including one helmet cam and an infrared camera provided by the BFD.
