As you know we have been doing a ton of work with MIT. We have had the pleasure of working with numerous teams in a variety of the programs they offer. The HyperLoop team is a group of students that are working on a concept called HyperLoop which is a conceptual high-speed transportation system introduced by entrepreneur Elon Muck back in 2013, incorporating reduced-pressure tubes in which pressurized capsules ride on an air cushion driven by linear induction and air compressors.
The competition is held by SpaceX and it is the first ever pod design competition open to students across the world. We have been working with the team to film their kick-starter video in order to bring in funding for their design. We spent time on campus filming b-roll, interviewing and speaking with the team about their proto-type and their methods for gaining momentum within this competition.
The team is comprised of 24 team members and six advisors. MIT is no stranger to advancing the technology frontier. The whole team shares “a passion for solving complex problems through technology innovation, and has accepted the challenge of building the next generation transportation system.” The HyperLoop team continues MIT’s tradition of “mens et manus”, applying cutting edge research to make the HyperLoop a physical reality.
We started working with MIT over a year ago and through that one relationship we made with the robotics team we have been able to be a part of so many other projects within their community. It really goes to show how good business relationships can pay off! Stay tuned for more from MIT HyperLoop team and McElroy Films.
