images-1Now a days blogs are making a huge comeback and it is no secret that putting videos in your posts is a great way to attract and maintain readers and click through rates. But when embedding videos to your blog post you want to make sure that they are up and serving to the fullest potential. Correct these common mistakes and follow a few of these tips and you can sit pretty knowing that your video is working its own magic.

  • No Indication:

The first thing you should do is let your readers know that there is a video within the post. As much as some people don’t want to admit it, now a days people would much rather watch something then sit and read about it. Specify, in your tittle that there is a video and make sure that the video is some-what close to the top of the page. If you can get people to read down at least a little bit to the video then you are giving them more time to think about what you are posting about.

  • No Text Content:

Having no text, doesn’t give your readers any context of what the post is about. You want them to know what they are about to spend time watching before they watch and entire video. It will just take a few sentences to inform your readers and in turn you may gain more attention from them.

  • No Customization:

Not optimizing the size of your video to the width of your blog can be harmful to it’s success.  It’s best to find the width of the column and set your video width to just slightly less.

  • No Call To Action:

After your post is all written up, with a customized and relevant video it is important to give your readers a call to action at the end. You don’t want them to be sitting there thinking to themselves “so what?” Add in a “like us on..” button and refer to it right in your video.
