If you were a production company you’d know the difficulty of finding good voiceover talent for your projects. You’d probably call talent you’ve worked with in the past or shop your script around to local talent.
With the introduction of Voice.com, the process of finding good talent is easier than ever. Just post your job into the database, specify the details, leave a sample of your script and within an hour you have 10-15 responses from professional talent biding on your job. The responses are easy to navigate. A list is populated with their name, sample and price. Once you’ve selected the right person for the job, just click on “Award Job”, make a deposit and they’ll record your entire project. It’s that simple.
Earlier this year we had a client come to us and ask us for a promotional video with a two-week deadline. We needed to hire professional VO talent quickly and efficiently.
Voices.com help our company achieve our goals by giving us quality samples we could review and pass to the client. Once approved, Voices.com handled our transaction for the payment and delivery of the files.
We’ve enjoyed working with voices.com so much that we’ve recommended them to many of our business contacts and other production firms.

We had a great shoot this weekend in boston with Evan Collier. We’re currently producing a mini documentary for Biblical Ministries Worldwide on church planting in the Boston area.
We shot two interviews, one with Evan infront of MIT overlooking the Charles River and the Boston skyline.
The other interview was with Ken Levit, a foot surgeon at the New England Baptist Hospital. He talked about the need for strong believers in the medical field.
We also shot 16 “man on the street” interviews with various people discussing their religious beliefs on camera.

The buzz around the post-production world is the release of the latest version of Final Cut Studio. How come Apple waited 4 weeks after their grand world wide developers conference to announce this? You would think after 2 whole years from their last version of FCS they would try to make a bigger smash?
Well, that’s some of the questions people have been asking all day. Why is Apple quietly releasing the latest version of Final Cut Studio? If you check their home page: www.apple.com you’ll see they still have a big advertisement for the iPhone 3GS. (Which I’m a proud owner of.) Why not showcase Final Cut? It makes people wonder if Apple rushed this release to satisfy users that were predicting it’s release at WWD 2009. Another good question is, why aren’t they calling it final cut studio 3?
One final question is: Why in the world does the new compressor have blu-ray burning capabilities? Did someone at Apple mess up the specs and accidentaly forget to put that under DVD studio?
On another note, McElroy Films will be a proud owner of a copy as soon as it comes in.
